Emotes are small, square images used by streamers on Twitch, as custom emojis, once they reach the affiliate rank.

The three sizes of emotes are 128x128 pixels, 56x56 pixels, and 28x28 pixels, thus requiring designers and artists to learn a new process of creating these small images. Simplifying shading and highlights, thicker outlines, and concise images are a few of the requirements for a successful emote.
